The Truth of Towing |
There is an old saying that just
because you own a hammer does not
mean that you can build a house.
This idea applies to the towing
industry in a similar manner. Some
towing companies will attempt to
convince perspective customers that
their equipment is the “latest and
greatest” and that they should be
chosen on that basis alone.
The truth is that since the advent
of hydraulic tow trucks and carriers
in the 1980’s there has been little
advancement in the equipment used in
the towing industry. Nearly all
professional towing companies
utilize the same types of equipment
such as wheel lifts, under lifts and
carriers. Certainly any towing
company that intends to operate
efficiently needs to update its
equipment regularly due to wear and
tear just as we do at Dan’s Towing &
Recovery, LTD. However, rather than
sell our services based on equipment
we prefer to stress the
qualifications of our personnel. The
McCarty family and their staff at
Dan’s have dedicated their careers
to the towing industry. In addition
to the decades of on the job
experience our operators have
received some of the best formal
training available from industry
leaders such as Ross Kinman, TRAA,
Wreckmasters, Wes Wilburn, and the
Ohio Fire Academy.
The bottom line is that when a

dispatch the right equipment for the
job and most importantly a
knowledgeable and experienced
